Welcome to New Berlin.
Contemporary Weimar Berlin.
Introduction part two of the film&TV.
Choose a different character from the film- Cabaret.
Same process as the first part- Select a character and a specific scene. But you cannot select the same character as before.
Part two appeals much more to me that part 1 of the project. I'm much more interested and motivated to select design ideas and research certain actors only after being showing the introduction today! The club culture aspect really inspired me as I like to think I personally dress a little weird myself so any original, quirky and out of the ordinary outfits and make-up designs are one hundred percent appealing to me! I have to say I'm really excited to get started with this part of the project and hope that it will be much more successful than my historical representation which I feel I let myself down in.
Just off the top of my head the first character that sprung to mind was the Emcee when contemplating my choice. Sally Bowles would have been a brilliant character to interpret in a contemporary design unfortunately she was my historical selection. My research of club culture will include a lot of drag and gay men so I shouldn't struggle to find some great ideas for a contemporary Emcee.
